Sony has also clarified that once a game is claimed from the PS Plus Collection, users can keep that game as long as they are subscribed to PS Plus. So it's not quite like Xbox Game Pass, where a game leaving the service means players can no longer play it without buying it outri

The highly acclaimed Hollow Knight is one of the best games on this list. The gameplay will suck you in the moment you start playing it. Also part of the Metroidvania genre, Hollow Knight was inspired by games such as Dark Souls , Metroid , and Castleva

Undertale is also a change in gameplay as it’s an RPG, but one that breaks the mold. It too created a huge fan base online due to this subversion of the genre along with it feeling like the cult classic, EarthBou

From developer Team Ninja, the creator of Ninja Gaiden , comes Nioh ; a widely acclaimed action role-playing game. What makes Nioh different from Dark Souls is that its missions are more linear as opposed to Dark Souls , go!! which encourages explorat

Known as the Fading Town, Dirtmouth is located on the outskirts of Hallownest but is an area that you find yourself returning to many times throughout the game. When the Knight first arrives, Dirtmouth is deserted, apart from the Elder

Cuphead may not be a Metroidvania like the three above, but fans of Hollow Knight can appreciate it for the high difficulty and similar art style. That is to say, it is like playing an old cartoon mixed with a shooter akin to Contra . The music is also superb plus there is co-op as well. For those curious, it started off as an Xbox One exclusive but it’s now on Switch as w

It’s nice finding that footing to play the games we knew we would love. It doesn’t always work out, but in my case it did and can for anyone. I look forward to the dynamic bloody streets of Vampyr or maybe some dungeon crawling through a labyrinth of a nest for a Hollow bug world (I’m honestly shook how good Hollow Knight is). My best advice: try and tough it out, be patient and know that eventually that feeling might come around. After all, you wouldn’t have bought the dang game otherwise.

The style of graphics is comparable to that of The Witness and World of Warcraft . It uses a muted cel-shaded approach that seems to work well in the game. Ashen borrows from the Souls titles but distinguishes itself from other copyc

But the main feature of Godmaster is its pantheons. Consisting of a series of glorified boss rushes, these pantheons will pit the player against an array of bosses back to back. With there being so little time to heal, the player has to have supreme confidence in their fighting ability in order to overcome even one of these pantheons. But once the player defeats the first pantheon, they will then be granted access to another. One with tougher enemies and a set or arenas that have its own hazards like spikes and pitfalls. In some cases, there isn’t even a floor. So not only does the player need to be good at combat, but they need to have decent platforming ski

The Forgotten Crossroads is an early-game zone with exits to many of the other areas in Hallownest. As the name implies, the function of the Forgotten Crossroads has long been forgotten - where it was once a bustling location that connected different areas of Hallownest, it’s now only used by the Knight and reanimated b

It should also be noted that there does exist another platforming section in the White Palace if players really enjoy platforming that much. It is called the Path of Pain and it is a hidden location that can be accessed by breaking a certain wall. Just be warned that the Path of Pain lives up to its name. It is so difficult to overcome that the regular White Palace seems easy by compari

First off, PlayStation Plus subscribers on PS5 will be able to claim a free copy of Bugsnax . Bugsnax is a bizarre first-person game where players have to go around and capture creatures that are all based on food. Bugsnax 's strange premise and catchy theme song have helped it turn heads, and while some may have been hesitant to try the game if they had to pay for it, it being available for free on PS Plus means most PS5 owners have no reason not to give it a shot. PS Plus subscribers can claim Bugsnax for free from November 12 to January 4, 2021. The PS4 version of Bugsnax will not be a part of the PS Plus lineup in Novem

It wasn’t until this week that Vampyr finally clicked. Soon I found myself picking up pace with the game and diving into the world like it was the deepest of pools. Hollow Knight clicked just the weekend before. Which begs another question, how does one know when they’re fatigued — possibly burning the candle at both ends? Remember to take breaks from games, there are a million things to do out in the world besides play games and falling prey to gaming fatigue isn’t all too difficult. This won’t be a health rant, just looking out. With such a large selection of games coming out through each year it’s easy to want to play them all, but keeping diligent and playing the ones worth it to you will make all the difference. It will cut down on game-time and won’t burn ones eyeballs out from looking at a screen all day.
