All The Best Game Trailers of 2019

Similar to Diablo 4 , the Overwatch 2 reveal trailer plays out like a short TV episode or movie, more so than a traditional hype trailer. The Overwatch 2 Zero Hour cinematic features Winston, Tracer, and Mei going on a mission in Paris after Winston's Overwatch Recall initiative. The three of them attempt to fight Null Sector robots, but they eventually become overwhel

With each passing year, game trailers seem to leap forward in terms of style, presentation, and emotional weight. Whether it's with a teaser to introduce a new game, a cinematic to unveil some plot points and characters, or a gameplay trailer to showcase new technology; trailers have the opportunity to get the industry buzzing about upcoming tit

Earlier this year, unconfirmed reports claimed that Fable 4 is in active development at Playground Games, the studio best known for its work on the Forza Horizon series. These reports still have yet to be proven, but with Microsoft recently purchasing Playground Games, it's clear that the publisher has a vested interest in the studio. If Fable 4 is in development as rumored, maybe an announcement will come at

A major complaint from many animal-loving gamers is when there are cute animals, but you cannot pet or interact with them. Luckily, Polterpup became available for pets, and he certainly deserves them for being a good

Escape does seem pretty intriguing as it isn't your regular multiplayer. Players are to form up in teams of three, infiltrate a hive, plant a bomb and then try to get the hell out of there in one piece.

Often, Xbox brands itself with Halo, Forza, and Gears of War, as those are the most recognizable IP that Xbox has in its repertoire. But having a next-gen Fable could go a long way in letting Xbox present itself in a more multifaceted way. A sweeping, open-world fantasy world with Fable 's signature cartoony style could help Xbox reach fans of games like Nintendo's Breath of the Wi

Microsoft still stole the show with its briefing, though. The Halo and Gears announcements were well received, among others, but none as much as the upcoming console now going by the name Project Scarlett.

For fans of the Fable games, the potential for Microsoft to produce another mainline entry in the series, instead of outings like Fable: The Journey and Fable Legends , is certainly exciting. Bringing back this Xbox-exclusive franchise could be a great move for Xbox, especially as it enters into a Tango Gameworks new game console generation. If Microsoft plays its cards right, Fable could end up being the Breath of the Wild in Xbox's portfo

The Yakuza series launched in 2005 to great success in Japan and developed a cult following in the West. Yakuza 0 introduced the series to a more mainstream audience. The games feature semi-open and faithfully recreated Japanese settings in famous Tokyo cities and their seedy underbelly. The first seven games in the series center around Kiryu and are self-contained stories in their own right. The eighth title, Yakuza: Like a Dragon , introduces a new protagonist, Ichiban, with unique motivations and a turn-based combat sys

The Elden Ring trailer provides next to no information about the upcoming collaboration between George R.R. Martin, the writer of the A Song of Ice and Fire fantasy books series, and FromSoftware, developers of the Dark Souls franchise, Bloodborne , and Sekiro, but that didn't stop it from being one of the most talked about announcements at E3 2019. Fans of FromSoftware loved the teaser and seem to be ready for the next punishing adventure from the develo

Fans had probably given up on the Fable series and that was probably fair as it did seem dead. In the run-up to E3, though, rumors began swirling, with Fable 4 being talked up as leaks emerged. Naturally, there was an expectation, especially with the Microsoft crew informing us beforehand that they would have lots in store at the event. They were certainly telling the truth about that, but we imagine lots of Fable fans were let down by the complete blank.

"Just finishing our final E3 rehearsal here with the team in Redmond. Feel really good about the briefing. Lots to show. We have 14 Xbox Game Studios games in the show this year, more first party games than we've ever had in the show," he'd tweeted ahead of E3 . "Fun times."

The main idea was that players would pick up the controller on a 15-year-old whose parents were killed, and in a journey of revenge, players would guide their avatar through an RPG experience shaping their avatar from a teenager to an adult with total freedom of their path. Their avatar would grow up along with the world—there was a famous example that players could plant an acorn as a child and then see it grow into a tree by adulthood—and eventually have to save the entire world on their journey. It was a lifelong pursuit, with players raising up a character from childhood all the way to old
