10 Underrated Franchises That Need A Reboot

Rumors have been swirling for quite some time that Microsoft has a brand new Perfect Dark game in development. According to the rumors, the new Perfect Dark will be third-person , and will be at least partially developed by Gears of War studio The Coalition. Whether or not there's any truth to these claims remains to be seen, but it would make sense for Microsoft to take advantage of Perfect Dark 's popularity and leg

Considering that Xbox currently can't boast many big-name exclusives that really sell what its next-generation venture is all about, it makes sense for the company to go all out on fable Reboot 4 and show it before the launch of its newest console. That's not to say the game should be rushed to be a launch title for the Series X; nobody wants the game to not reach its potential purely for the sake of creating hype for the Serie

One of the newer games on this list, Moving Out is a co-op game all about moving furniture. While the controls can admittedly be frustrating at times, Moving Out otherwise shines thanks to its sharp sense of humor and whacky co-op ant

Whenever it comes to fun localco-op game options, it's never a bad idea to check out Minecraft . Minecraft allows for up to four players to play together in split-screen, giving them complete freedom to explore, build, fight monsters, and more. When players really get into thoroughly exploring their Minecraft world, the game becomes impossible to put down, giving players countless hours of genuine entertainment with frie

Meanwhile, Microsoft can't boast the same number of significant system sellers. Halo: Infinite is undeniably a massive draw, but it's far from something entirely new for the franchise, especially with Microsoft continuing to pump out fairly frequent Halo titles over the past decade. Naturally, Xbox could provide followups to titles like Crackdown 3, Sea of Thieves, and Recore, but very few of these games managed to impress players or build giant fanbases when they launched during the Xbox One's life cy

One potential Ubisoft E3 2018 surprise was the reveal of Assassin's Creed Odyssey , which leaked ahead of time and was then confirmed by the company. However, just because Assassin's Creed Odyssey leaked, that doesn't mean Ubisoft doesn't have any other surprises in store for fans. Rumors point to a brand new Splinter Cell game being announced at E3 this year, which would mark the first Splinter Cell title in five years. Whether or not that comes to pass remains to be seen, but fans should be sure to tune in to Ubisoft's E3 2018 press conference to

It remains to be seen exactly which games Microsoft will be showcasing at the July Xbox 20/20 event. However, there are plenty of great, dormant franchises that Microsoft could revive to generate some extra excitement for the Xbox Series X, with these 10 arguably having the most potent

After the success of P.T. inspired psychological thriller Layers of Fear in 2016, horror game extraordinaire Bloober Team followed it up with the cyberpunk-themed psychological thriller, Observer for PC, PS4, Xbox One , and Nintendo Switch earlier this year. It's next game, Observer: System Redux is effectively a next-generation port, taking the original game and updating it with enhanced visuals and gameplay, as well as brand new story content . Observer: System Redux is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in the fourth quarter of 2

With no prior announcement, Microsoft surprise-launched the beat 'em up Streets of Rage 4 on Xbox Game Pass. While some may have been concerned that Streets of Rage 4 wouldn't live up to the legacy of its predecessors, the game has proven any doubters wrong. Streets of Rage 4 reviews have been mostly positive, with fans praising the game's retro-style local co-op action. Streets of Rage 4 's main story may be a little on the short side, but the game otherwise has a lot of content for fans of the genre to sink their teeth i

From the brilliant minds at Bloober Team, developer of Layers of Fear 2, Blair Witch , and the previously mentioned Observer: System Redux comes a new original next-generation psychological horror, The Medium . Haunted by a vision of a child's murder, players control Marianne, a medium that's living between two different worlds: the real world and the spirit world, and must find answers in an abandoned hotel resort. For the creation of The Medium 's soundtrack, Bloober Team has chosen to collaborate with Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka in an effort to reflect the game’s theme of duality. The Medium will release on Xbox Series X and PC in Holiday 2

TimeSplitters is a light-hearted FPS title that revolves around time travel and the results that can have on the past, present, and future. While the story frequently makes jokes and pokes fun at itself, the gunplay is incredibly tight and hearkens back to an older generation of shooters in a good way. Superb multiplayer kept players engaged for hundreds of hours after the campaign was over, and the in-depth map editor made every multiplayer game different from the last. With the recent trend of remaking older classics, there is no reason TimeSplitters shouldn't get a reboot.
