Zero Build Mode Proves Building Is Fortnite's Worst Feature

The massively popular battle royale, Fortnite ** , __ ** is known for having some wild crossovers with other IPs, however, no crossover would be bigger than a Star Wars one for next season. Considering the dates line-up between the release of the Kenobi series on Disney+ and Fortnite 's Chapter 3 Season 3, a Star Wars -themed season does seem likely. There have also been leaks of characters like Darth Vader showing up on Fortnite , similar to how the Mandalorian, Din Djarin, appeared back in Chapter 2, Season 5. There have also been rumors of lightsabers making a return to the island. Epic Games could be preparing for a major Star Wars battle pass similar to Chapter 2, Season 4's Marvel __ crosso

Fortnite _ has had some grand crossovers with multiple IPs. With May 4 coming up as well as the release of the _Kenobi series on Disney+, it would make sense for its next season to double down on Star Wars crossover items. As leaks of Darth Vader and lightsabers coming to the island keep pouring in, it may only be a matter of time before players get to see a new trailer featuring the iconic sci-fi series coming to the island once ag

Fortnite has a lot of crossovers, to say the least. Marvel and DC are some of the biggest, and most well-represented, franchises on the Battle Bus, but they're far from the only ones. Lara Croft, Stranger Things ' Demogorgon, and The Walking Dead 's Rick Grimes are just a few examples of the different skins that players can use unwanted in-game purchases. The list has only grown as time goes on, and the question of who will be next is always coming up. Some, like Batman and Wolverine, are pretty cool-looking, even if they're a bit out of place. Others, however, like Rick Sanchez of Rick and Morty , don't transition well to Fortnite due to the aesthetic transition between a two-dimensional cartoon to a three-dimensional game. Some Fortnite skins like the Prowler can be unlocked by completing challenges, but others require players to purchase the season's latest Battle P

Since Fortnite / Star Wars crossover would also include Darth Vader as a skin, it would make sense for his kit to include a cape back bling, a pickaxe, and even a glider. The glider could potentially be the TIE Advanced he was first seen using in 1977's Star Wars . Vader's pickaxe could even be the game's first lightsaber harvesting tool. While this would make sense, Fortnite has been known to give some crossover skins some strange harvesting tools. A good example of this would be Arcane 's Vi, who saw a crossover with Fortnite recently but got Jayce's hammer as a harvesting tool rather than her own iconic gauntl

If Fortnite didn't spend so much time and energy making crossover skins, then more focus could be placed on actual gameplay. Innovative new features help keep games fresh, especially when they're an online-based MMO game like Fortnite . No Build Mode changed the game completely. Although it took something away from the game rather than adding something in, it's still an example of what it can do when it's not constantly working on crossovers. Bringing back Fortnite 's bows could be great , and they're just the start of the possibilities. There are plenty of retired features and weapons that could improve the game if brought back, like the Drum Gun and the Port-a-Fort. Not all of them were hits, but they were still exciting and

Announced in 2012, gamers had to wait just under nine long years for Cyberpunk 2077's release. Being developed by the same people behind the widely beloved Witcher trilogy, Cyberpunk 2077 became one of the most anticipated games of the dec

Intended as a reboot for the franchise, the game sought to use the best parts of previous 3D Sonic games whilst expanding on the series' lore with players being able to play as Sonic, Shadow, and a new hedgehog called Silver. The game was a total disaster, however, with poor level design, awkward controls, and ultimately unengaging gameplay. The game's storyline also featured a romance between Sonic and a human which fans have been trying to erase from their minds since 2006. With these negative aspects, the game cemented itself as the most hated in the Sonic franch

By removing building, Fortnite changed in a big way, arguably for the better. One improvement is that it made games faster. It might be easy to die in Fortnite , but living to see the end takes a while. Building can bog down matches by dragging out gunfights, as well as requiring players to gather large amounts of materials. They may spend more time gathering wood from trees or metal from mailboxes than they do in the actual combat. All of it slows down the game quite a bit, so Zero Build Mode allows for quicker games that don't require as much time or energy. Although it might defeat the purpose of pickaxes a bit, that's not as much of a problem due to their dual purpose as melee weap

Image-7-18-24-at-10.16-AM.jpgTaking out building also put a stronger emphasis on combat. Without all the material gathering and battlefield control, players could focus on shooting each other to pieces, which is what the game was supposed to be like in the first place. Vehicles also had a bigger role, like the jetpack Fortnite reintroduced in Chapter 3 Season 2 . The game's many guns and explosives were already a focal point, but they can truly shine without the building features. Although sniping can still remove players from combat somewhat, it's not too much of an issue. Tactics also became more important since players couldn't just build a giant metal fort anywhere they were anymore, leading to professional players coming up with creative new ways to play, and newer and casual ones having an easier t
