DecemberE3 2018: Biggest Games Rumored for the Show
Earlier when I was mentioning perfect RPG's I was close to bringing up this beauty but had to save it for the right occasion, and that occasion is now. Many argue that Fallout: New Vegas is not only the best modern Fallout game but the best game in Read the Full Post ser
The funny part being that this score makes it equal to Fallout 4, a game many fans consider one of the worst (although it ain't too shabby if you ask us). Still, this is one of the classics in modern gaming and still receives so much support from the community. So an 84 ain't cutting
Some companies hosting press conferences, like Electronic Arts, haven't had much in the way of leaks leading up to the show. EA will be showcasing the likes of Anthem and Battlefield V at E3, but just because there haven't been many rumors about other EA titles at the show, that doesn't mean fans aren't still in for some surpri
The Rabbids kind of kicked Rayman out of his own franchise for a while, and the last true Rayman game before the Wii party game, Rayman 3 , didn't live up to its predecessors. 2011 saw a return to form, however, with Rayman: Origins . The 2D side-scrolling platformer brought back all the charm, difficulty, and engaging gameplay from the character's debut. Origins and its sequel are often seen as two of the best in the genre from the past ten ye
That being said, it's a necessary change for a modern title. Ideally, there will be a balance between the old system and the creation of the new one, though, with no game confirmed so far, it's difficult to say what exactly that will look like. Fans may get a decent idea if the game is announced at Xbox's July event, though they'll just have to wait and find
Though Wolfenstein 3D may not have been the first FPS , it certainly revolutionized the genre and made it a force to be reckoned with. Hype for the series waned over time, but MachineGames brought it back in full force with 2014's Wolfenstein: The New Order . The alternate history game brought a surprising depth to the narrative. Players came in thinking Inglorious Basterds , but got something more along the lines of Philip K. Dick's The Man in the High Cast
As far as indie horror games go, one of the most intriguing titles on the horizon is easily Undying . A freshman effort on the part of studio Vanimals, players take control of a mother and son as they attempt to survive in a zombie apocalypse. While there are no shortage of zombie games out there, the mother/son dynamic of Undying is something different, and the game's unique art style will also help it stand out from the cr
With the large amounts of video games releasing today, both from indie developers and AAA studios, not every game is destined to be a hit. Bad timing, underbaked mechanics, or unfulfilled promises can all result in a forgotten series.
Lionhead Studio's Fable was the Xbox's flagship RPG franchise. While infamous for Peter Molyneux's grand unfulfilled technological promises, it still managed to please legions of Microsoft fans for years throughout the company's first two consoles. Sadly, the company closed in 2016 , leaving an upcoming title in the series canceled. The franchise's future is currently up in the air, though Phil Spencer has hinted at a possible comeback several times in recent years. Whatever happens, it probably won't involve Molyn
Plus it's the only time that it's fun to use the Wii remotes for driving as you skirt all throughout the courses. Go ahead and pick up this gem for a buck at Game Stop, brush the dust off your Wii and play one of the best driving games ever made - yeah, it's really that good (and crazy addicting t
Originally due for release this past March, The Sinking City was delayed to June 27. This gave the game one last opportunity to be shown off at E3, where it made an appearance during the Kinda Funny Games Showcase. The Sinking City looks to blend detective gameplay as seen in the Sherlock Holmes series with Lovecraftian horror, which is a concept that seems to have plenty of potential. With The Sinking City due out by the end of the month , horror game fans don't have to wait too much longer to find out if it's able to deliver on its promising prem
Despite the lacking features the developers promised, Fable managed to carve its own fanbase thanks to its unique sense of style and humor. Combat was engaging, letting players choose between a mage, fighter, or ranged playstyle. If this series got a second chance and had the ability to implement all of its promised features, it would be one of the most highly praised RPGs of this decade.
Reboots have become more common recently, bringing older titles to modern audiences with some tweaks and innovations to hold its own. This is usually done for more big-budget titles like Call of Duty , but underrated franchises that never got a large following would benefit greatly from this. Ranging from cult classics to more modern titles, here are 10 underrated franchises that need a reboot.
