DecemberReview: Destiny 2: Shadowkeep
There has been some speculation about the details of Exodus: Evacuation. As it wasn’t available until recently, fans have datamined information to get a general understanding of the quest and what tasks will need to be completed. Now, players have been able to experience the quest first-hand. It focuses on the same four planets. Players will have to complete four quests for each of the leaders on the planets. They won’t visit the planets in the same order they hade before. Players will have to speak to Commander Zavala again to access this qu
Probably the biggest albatross hanging over the entire expansion, however, is the lack of anything new. Despite some additional areas to explore and a fresh coat of paint, this is a map players already paid $60 to explore back in 2014. Nightmares are just reskinned versions of enemies we've already fought and they don't behave any differently. Two of the three new Crucible maps are remasters of old maps. The new Nightmare activities are against bosses that players have already fought hundreds of times. The new Strikes and Raid are excellent additions, but you don't even need to own Shadowkeep to play the Strikes. For $34.99, players should expect more and Bungie should have provided plenty of new content rather than rehashing older material.
Ace of Spades is a staple Hand Cannon in PvP all thanks to its main trait, Momento Mori, which grants the ability to see the radar while aiming, while giving a damage boost as well so long as players reload shortly after a kill. You don't even need to own Shadowkeep to enjoy a lot of the expansion's content. The opening mission, the Moon patrol space, the new two new Strikes and the three Crucible maps are available as part of Destiny 2: New Light, the free-to-play version of the game. While the Raid and campaign are sectioned off, there's a lot you can do without owning Shadowkeep (the Seasonal Activities require you own the Season Pass).
What's nice is that in the middle there's a little cavernous spot that works best for players who prefer a more up-close-and-personal playstyle. It's also nice cover from any of the taller high grounds where snipers and other long-range weapons can demolish players from afar. New expansion means new story, new story means new area and new area means new NPCs to give out fun stuff. Upon the initial Prison Break and Cayde’s death, Guardians will immediately make their way to The Tangled Shore in tracking down the escapees. The leader of this tangled web is a wonderful Fallen NPC named Spider. Spider helps in getting the ball rolling in tracking down the big-bads and seeking vengeance upon Uldren. He also is extremely helpful in getting one’s Light Level up the easy way. Sure, he sells the resources needed to now infuse gear into other gear, but honestly that will cost some serious glimmer. If not wanting to farm glimmer while wasting time, instead start chipping away at those bounties he has available. This is an easy first step in getting solid legendary gear that won’t break the bank or ones will. This will see Guardians returning to areas familiar such as the EDZ while heading into Lost Sectors to hunt those who’ve broken out of Prison. These are not the main Wardens in the main quest but regular high-level enemies that upon killing will complete a bounty for good gear. The Bounties stick around for a week making it a solid initial jumping off point.

Destiny 2 _ is nearing the end of its Season of Arrivals . Due to delays with _Destiny 2 Spoils Of Conquest 2: Beyond Light , Season of Arrivals has lasted longer than intended. Players can complete major questlines involved with the season, collect new weapons, and try their hardest to reach Season of Arrival’s new level cap before it changes again. Destiny 2 ’s developers prefer to release content at different points throughout a season to keep players interested and to give them new tasks and challenges to complete every week. With every season there are new weapons to collect as well, and players will receive a new weapon for every step they complete in this questl
Become familiar with how weapons work now. Bungie made it a big deal that the weapon system would be changing drastically and it has. While the initial roll of out of these changes was a few weeks ago with update 2.0, Guardians are seeing the full force of these changes now that Forsaken has dropped. Weapons have returned to how things were in Destiny (1) with completely random rolls while certain weapons now find themselves in entirely new slots. The same weapon can drop five times and each time will come with different stats and abilities. This makes for some fun mixing/matching. To make things even easier, if a certain perk works well for one’s play style, putting that perk on the new gun only requires the dismantling of whatever version of the weapon not wanted but getting to keep the perks in modification form that are wanted. Then it’s simple as slapping it on the weapon kept. Forsaken is all about being user friendly and wants Guardians to make the most of their toys. Now that certain weapons find themselves in new slots such as Snipers or Shotguns being in all three slots of Primary, Secondary and Heavy, mixing and matching is highly encouraged. Play around with different load-outs because the possibilities have become greater. I found myself with a Shotgun in my Primary, a Sniper in my Secondary and my trusty Rocket Launcher in my Heavy. It was a blast and while I’ve switched it out since then it was fun playing around seeing how these new combinations favor each other. Pro-tip: Bows. That is all.
