Elden Ring's Most Underused NPC Could Have Revealed Its Darkest Secrets

While Kalé's role in Elden Ring is minimal, a lengthy cut questline would have given the dedicated capitalist a much greater impact on the narrative. According to data miners, the storyline would have seen Kalé embark on a journey to locate the Great Caravan that his people once called home. The merchant would leave the Church of Elleh to travel all across the Lands Between, with his search eventually landing him in the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds beneath Leyndell where the Three Fingers reside. While Melina typically advises the Tarnished protagonist to resist joining the Three Fingers and possessing the Frenzied Flame, Kalé's cut questline would have put an entirely new perspective on this scena

Unfortunately, once Remembrances are turned into runes, they're gone until a New Game Plus is started, in which players will have to defeat the same bosses once again to earn them - only the bosses get stronger with each restart. The good news is that the new game plus allows players to keep the weapons and levels they already earned from previous playthroughs, so it shouldn't be too difficult for an experienced Tarnished to obtain the Remembrance again; however, Elden Ring can take long to beat and might make the process for some too strenuous. One unique aspect to earning the same Remembrance twice is that powerful weapons can be dual-wielded to create an even stronger combination of attacks, making PvE and PvP more interesting. If players are only sticking to a single playthrough, though, turning the Remembrances into runes won't be worth the con of losing the special rewards from tough bosses, even if using Walking Mausoleums to duplicate them to help mitigate the l

While Kalé himself is greatly developed through his cut questline, much is also revealed about his nomadic merchant clan. In Elden Ring proper little is revealed about the group except that it conforms to a nomadic culture and was relatively unaffected by the Shattering of the Elden Ring. Kalé's people are " spurned by the grace of gold ," and thus often take the role of merchants that sell valuable goods at a fair price. Other than Kalé, the traveling merchants in Elden Ring rarely share their names, though they do set themselves apart through accessories like bird feathers in their hats. They are also a peaceful people, which makes their fate even more tragic (though they will defend themselves with Frenzied Flame magic when threaten

Spending earned Remembrances from **Elden Ring ** demigod bosses has both pros and cons to it. Thankfully, Elden Ring 's new game plus mode allows players to obtain the Remembrances again, but it's not an easy task for all to do. Understanding the benefits of spending or keeping them can completely change the tide of the game and how it's experienced at different mome

**Elden Ring ** 's success will be tough to follow up, but if there's ever been a talented team to rise to the challenge, it's FromSoftware, and studio head Hidetaka Miyazaki has already confirmed the next game to be in its final stages of development. Miyazaki's " almost ideal " game, Elden Ring , has certainly earned its spot amongst the best games of the decade, but it's already apparent that FromSoftware is looking to the future. New projects are in development, but it's still unclear what they might

FromSoftware's unique brand of multiplayer is a creation oddly personal to Miyazaki. According to an old Eurogamer interview, the idea for Demon's Souls ' co-op was born out of Miyazaki getting his car stuck in the snow. Strangers spontaneously pushed his car to get it moving again before suddenly disappearing, the same way Elden Ring 's colorful phantoms fade after winning a boss fight. Without an opportunity to thank them, Miyazaki referred to the encounter as " a connection of mutual assistance between transient people ." It's an interesting anecdote, but it also provides some insight on Miyazaki's - and by extension, FromSoftware's - design philosophy. Elden Ring 's multiplayer mechanics may be obtuse, but they're an important part of the game's vis

In total, there are fifteen bosses that drop Remembrances after being defeating. Some of them can be earned by playing through the regular storyline, but the others come from optional boss fights that are scattered throughout the various regions of the Lands Between. Remembrances are a way of rewarding players for beating the toughest enemies in the game, which is why - given how hard Elden Ring 's many boss battles can be - there are only a handful of them. What makes them so valuable is what's stored inside of them; the power of the past owner is conjured into these Remembrances as a sort of essence, which the player can either spend and get runes in return, or they can choose to utilize them in a separate way by adopting part of the defeated boss' power into their personal arse

FromSoftware's design plans for upcoming, unannounced games are unknowable, but it's hard to believe the Seamless Co-op mod has gone unnoticed by the developer. Elden Ring updates are making hidden changes , but the vanilla multiplayer mechanics are likely set in stone, and won't change even if a DLC expansion is released. Rumors claim FromSoftware's next game may be a new Armored Core , which might take on some Soulslike mechanics, but feels like a stronger candidate to receive more traditional multiplayer systems. However, as president of FromSoftware, Hidetaka Miyazaki has an incredible amount of influence on all of the studio's projects, and has become something of an auteur with the increasing success of the Soulslike ga
