Cyberpunk 2077 Players Warned Of Epileptic Seizure Risk [UPDATED]

Since the project was first announced back in 2012, the road to this week's release date for CD Projekt Red's futuristic RPG has been a long one. Dedicated fans are desperate to get their hands on the game after an erratic year, which involved multiple delays and reports that the Polish developer even forced employees to work crunch hours to meet its upcoming December 10 deadline. Since their release last month, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles have been undergoing some major customization work by new owners. This custom Cyberpunk 2077 console is the latest example of a video game being personified in the brand-new generation of conso

On Twitter the developer replied directly to Game Informer 's message and declared its intention to add a new warning to the game aside from the one included in the EULA. It also mentioned that the dev team is already looking into the specific triggers listed by Ruppert, and will be implementing "a more permanent solution" as soon as possible. Whether this solution consists of a blanket overhaul to the game's lighting or a discrete mode that epileptic fans can toggle on remains to be seen. There is as of yet no time frame for this solution either; in the meantime, epileptic fans who want to play the game should take extreme care to avoid th

However, the patch will not fix issues caused by incompatible settings on PC, as Döhla mentioned in yet another tweet that " it won‘t help if you‘re running the PC version with settings your PC can’t handle. Game has tons of options to find a matching configuration though ." Lastly, the dev closed out the impromptu Q&A with one last response to a question about the copies of cyberpunk 2077 crafting guide|https://cyberpunk2077fans.com/ 2077 that reviewers got to play, stating, " It is a different game with console update, ye

Two days ahead of its long-awaited launch, a CD Projekt Red developer has confirmed on Twitter that Cyberpunk 2077 _ 's day one update will fix many of the game's bugs. This confirmation comes after it was revealed that _Cyberpunk 2077 will have a 43 GB patch on day one, which should give some relief to players spooked by reviewers' plentiful bug repo

The question of accessibility in video games is a long process, and an important one. No one deserves to threaten their health and safety to play a video game because of forces outside their own control. Unfortunately, advocates for safer and better options have an uphill battle ahead of them, due not only to the complex nature of the issue but to blatant insensitivity. For instance, after her epilepsy PSA was published, Ruppert began receiving videos designed to trigger her epilepsy from trolls masquerading as sympathetic fellow sufferers. This kind of behavior is abhorrent and, tragically, it's all too common in the video game commun

Döhla's thread literally answers quite a few questions, but it also raises a few more, particularly for PC players who cringe at the idea of playing anything at 30fps. While it will be possible to adjust the settings and get the game to run at 60 FPS, doing so looks like it will cause a slew of other problems that the day one patch will likely not address. Assuming players stick to the recommended settings, the game should run smoothly on the (now) last-gen consoles, as well as on the new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S . That is, at least until the upgraded versions of Cyberpunk 2077 releases sometime next y

Reviews for Cyberpunk 2077 have begun appearing online, and one common theme among them is the various bugs and glitches present in the game's current, pre-patch state. Despite the repeated delays, the game has still seemed rushed to reviewers, though it seems that some are less bothered by this than others. As expected, there will be a fairly large day one patch on all versions of the game to help sort out some of the issues encountered by reviewers and other early play

Unfortunately, not all aspects of the game's visual presentation are worth getting excited about. A Game Informer correspondent has issued a PSA to alert fans about certain elements that do not play well with epilepsy, having encountered at least one seizure herself while playing. General triggers were identified from the red glitching visual effect that pops up frequently throughout the story progression, as well as flickering pale blue lights that appear when talking to Keanu Reeves' character, Johnny Silverhand . Due to the bombastic nature of Night City, the correspondent identified several "danger zones" for epileptic gamers when entering bars and nightclubs. The game's Braindance mechanic was identified as a particular area of concern; the headset that the protagonist dons to engage with the mechanic bears a surprising similarity to a medical headset used to trigger seizures, and is unfortunately roughly as effective. The correspondent recommends looking away whenever the headset appears, and using caution and, if possible, the buddy system to navigate the Braindance mechanic its
